Born and raised in Beijing, Lexy is an artist and researcher, based at Fotoverkstedet & Isotop in Bergen. She works with experimental analogue photographic techniques, textile, and moving images, viewing photography as a form of performance and action that extends beyond the content of the image. She approaches her investigations philosophically, striving to build a coherent, interconnected, and poetic theoretical system through her work.
Lexy holds a Bachelor of Computer Science, a First Class Honours BA in Fine Art Photography from Camberwell College of Arts, and a MFA in Fine Art from University of Bergen (KMD). She has been invited to exhibit her works, provide talks, and teach analogue photography workshops in photo festivals and events like Oslo Negativ, Experimental Photo Festival, 20/20 Photo Festival, B-open, etc.
Lexy has developed a craft technique, Silver Mirroring Toning, which transforms Silver Mirroring from a type of photographic decay into an aesthetic and iridescent effect. She has been sharing her research and processes by her articles and workshops with the alternative and experimental photography communities.
