Visual artist and philosopher, using media of photography and film as well as text form. Developing from a combination of photographic studies with background in philosophy, Aliona ́s method is a visual research that unites photographic and philosophic practices. One of the primer interests is phenomenology of art. This implies reflective and self-reflective approach towards both art itself, its place within modern society and experience of being an artist. Among other main lines there is also the theme of collective identity and its cultural constructs, oppositions of presence and absence, immediate and mediated. In her expression Aliona uses capacities of both documentary and staged photography and practices genre of photographic sculpture and interactive experiments.
