Ulla Schildt (b. 1971 in Finland) lives and works in Oslo. She works mostly with photography, video and installation. Recurring themes in her work are archives and collections. Schildt has studied photography at the Dublin Institute of Technology and the University of Helsinki. Schildt has exhibited widely in both Norway and internationally, including New Nordic Photography at Hasselblad Centre (Gothenburg, 2008), Nordic Light International Festival of Photography (Kristiansund, 2008), Ireland International Festival of Photography (Dublin, 2010), the Spring Exhibition at Fotogalleriet (Oslo,2011), A Rare Visitor at Akershus Kunstsenter (Lillestrøm, 2015), For a gentle song would not shake us if we never heard a loud one at Fotogalleriet (Oslo, 2016) and the Autumn Exhibition at Kunstnernes Hus (Oslo, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2018). Ulla Schildt’s works have been acquired by among others the University of Oslo’s Art Collection, Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation in Norway and the Office of Public Works in Ireland.
