FOTOBOKFESTIVAL OSLO 2015

FFF welcomes you to Fotobokfestival Oslo 2015; a ten-day programme examining the photobook as an artistic medium and phenomenon through exhibitions, lectures, launches, workshops and much more! Fotobokfestival Oslo, formerly known as Flere Sider Fotografi (Various Sides of Photography), was established by Forbundet Frie Fotografer (Norwegian Associaton of Fine Art Photographers – FFF) in 2009, and is now an annual event taking place during September every year.

We are proud to present this year´s festival programme, which is a result of unique collaborations as part of our efforts to highlight the photobook. The PhotoBookMuseum was established in Cologne in 2014 by publisher and curator Markus Schaden (DE) and his team, paying tribute to the central form of expression in photography: the photobook. Fotobokfestival Oslo is the first stop for their Mobile Edition tour, and and the only Nordic venue for these projects, which will be exhibited at Youngstorget, Fotogalleriet and Goethe-Institute.
In addition to this, Fotobokfestival Oslo also collaborates with Fotogalleriet, Shoot Gallery, MELK, TM51, Fotografiens Hus and Tronsmo bookstore, who all have developed other programmes as part of the 2015 festival.

The exhibition consists of 40 prints presenting black&white work from the 90´s, vintage prints as well as more recent color work.

Dr. Strand, Nina Strand

@ TM51

Dr. Strand is the title of an exhibition and a book about the late doctor, feminist and activist Kitty Strand. The personal picture-memoir is told by her daughter, Nina Strand (NO). Kitty and Nina were planning a journey across the U.S. that they never had time to take before Kitty passed away in 2001. In 2012 Nina took the trip together with her own daughter in order to revive her mothers thoughts and ideas - for one last time.

@ FOTOGRAFIENS HUS

The Fjords is a portrait series of people in Geiranger, Hardanger and Sogn og Fjordane, taken by Norwegian photographer Hans Kristian Riise (NO). The images tell a story about the unique travel culture that can be experienced on the Norwegian west coast during summer and tourist season, when people from all over the world come looking for exciting and magnificent nature experiences.
